Bian Que was reputed to be an expert in diagnosing illness, reading pulse as well as acupuncture therapy and is credited as the author for 'Bian Que Neijing' ( Internal Classic of Bian Que ) and is widely known that during the Han Dynasty, Physicians have studied and applied his works. Bian Que was also known as Tai Yueren who was raised from Renqiu, a province in Hebei and a well known physician during his time(ca. 500 B.C.).His popularity
was noted when he heard the queen of Hu state ( Shaanxi province) had died
suddenly. Being sadden by the news he made a trip to the palace and
offered his service. While examining the queen, he found out that her inner thighs were
still warm which interpreted her condition as "coma death" which
resulted in a state of suspending death. Bian Que administered his
professional expertise and took care of the queen whom
recovered fully within a short period of time. The emperor was delighted
and honored Bian Que the title "The doctor who brings
the dead back to life". Bian Que popularity and fame soon put him
at par with the status of God. His popularity soon brought him
displeasure among the imperial physicians who felt his presence will
threatened their position. They soon got him killed and after his death
he was worship as Bian Que the spiritual doctor.
